Bio

Jean Honeymoon aka Miss Honeypenny, 44, half Thai, half Scottish, mother of two girls, DJ and Vocalist.

Jean's music career began in the mid 80's as Singer/Song Writer in Glasgow band The Honeymooners releasing one 7" single 'Another Fit Of Laughter'. She began spinning early 90s and DJ'd regularly in Glasgow City Centre and West End's bars and clubs including Bar Ten, Whistler's Mother, The Sub Club and The Arches. After taking time out to raise her children Jean found her way back to the turntables in 2002, playing her records in Glasgow (residencies, The Honeytrap Club and The Groucho Saint Jude's), Miami (opening the Miami Winter Music Conference 2006) and as host on her own show on internet radio Warrior FM.

Now having returned to her roots of singing and songwriting with Martin Connelly from The Honeymooners, Jean is also part of vocal/acoustic outfit Honey with Yvonne O'Brien, Steve Boyle and Martin Connelly. Martin and Jean are now writing and recording for German Label, DIVENTA MUSIC. 2009 saw Jean guest DJ alongside Sebastian Preis (Shame Jazz & Art Cafe) at Bar Ten, DJ B*Licious (Carnival Arts Club, Zoo Muzik) at Cosmopole, Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Blow Up Club, Australia) at The Drawing Room and The Buff Club, Nick Peacock (Universal Principles, Soma, Resident DJ Buff Club) at The Polish Club and The Buff Club. In November 2009, Jean and her records flew to Paris to play Bar Ne Nous Fâchons Pas with guest, DJ Soap, (Soap Orchestra, France).
